HizHut Admits the 21st Century!

With my old camera starting to get a little flakey and struggling with the lighting conditions in my cabin, I had tried seeing whether the camera on my mobile (for emergencies only) might take better photos.  My mobile turned out to almost unworkable and updates were failing to load owing to a lack of memory - so time to admit progress and get an upgrade.

And the results are IMO a big improvement - I think, mainly due to the ability of modern cameras to automatically adjust for poor lighting conditions.

Here's a 15mm leIG.18 and crew ...

... and here's one I took earlier with my old camera.

And, for wide table-top view, with the new phone ...

... and the old camera.

So, clearly not all progress is bad ...

... Bah!  Humbug!

  1. My phone camera is as good as my elderly bridge camera (when it is on auto). The Bridge camera wins out when blowing up images as the sensor is bigger, but only just wins out!

    1. I suppose my camera does do very good, really up-close photos. so it'll probably still get used. This new phone just works better as well, for once a touch screen that actually responds to my touch.

  2. I got a new phone a couple of years ago and the camera is just astonishing, particularly for low lights shots. I even got some decent pictures of the Northern Lights without any special fiddling around.

    1. I agree, I think the best bit about these new phone cameras is how they cope with unnatural lighting conditions.
